David Bowie (1947 - 2016)

I'm not gonna lie. I hardly ever listened (or gave much mind) to David Bowie.

Oh sure, i heard the occasional song or two. In an amazing, personally life-changing unplugged performance, Kurt Cobain once said "that was a song by David Bowie" (first tie i had heard of the guy). Then, some friends in high school made me watch the Labyrinth (so weird, but muppets!), since i apparently missed out as a kid. Even my pal Josh recently told me Ziggy Stardust... was one of the greatest albums ever. Oh, and Bowie was featured not once, but twice in the Martian (a great film I re-watched).

I'm sure there you've had equally as many, likely unidentified Bowie moments, given his presence in the culture over the years, including, but not limited to his music. and likely many other mediums.

So without even trying, we've had an impression of Bowie and his music. And of course, there's nothing like the passing away of a legend to inspire you to reflect and learn more (given this pattern, i'm pretty sure my inevitable Bob Dylan phase is fast approaching).

So while it's normal not for MK, i'd challenge each and every one of you to spend some time with Best of Bowie (i had originally gave gave his newer, final album a try with the intent of posting here, but being uninitiated to Bowie, it didn't sit as well with me).
